Practically every business has a Facebook page these days. That means a whole lot of competition for views and other interaction. Simply posting a picture here and there might not be quite enough to get your page in front of viewers anymore. Especially with the new Facebook feed algorithm. This is where knowing how to boost a Facebook post can come in handy!
First things first, though. You may need to know what a boosted post on Facebook is before you get into how to boost a Facebook post.
A boosted post is a fee-based way of getting your post placed higher on users’ News Feeds, thus getting you more views and clicks. Pretty simple. We recommend boosting posts that spread brand awareness and help your company grow in the long term, as well as posts about promotions you’re currently running.
Now, back to how to boost a post on Facebook…
Steps to Boost a Facebook Post
#1 Choose A Post to Boost
You can either boost an old post or create a new one to boost. It basically works the same way.
If you want to boost an old post on Facebook, find it and click the ‘Boost Post’ button on the bottom right corner of the post itself. If you have new info to boost, create your post as usual and then click the ‘Boost Post’ button.
#2 Set Parameters for Boosted Post
Once you click the ‘Boost Post’ button, a window will pop up with a few different parameters to set. You’ll need to define the following:
- Audience – who should see your boosted post? (Those who like your page already or a specific demographic.)
- Budget – how much are you willing to spend on the post? (You can choose predetermined dollar amounts or set your own.)
- Duration – how long should the boosted post run? (Again, pick from a set number of days or tell Facebook when to stop boosting the post.)
#3 Boost That Baby!
Now just click the big blue boost button and you’re all set. You can check in on how things are going by viewing your insights.
